ENFORCING LAW IS NOT RETALIATION

How strangely will the tools of a tyrant pervert the plain meaning of words. - Samuel Adams
This morning I watched the one hour six minutes timeline documentary about 06 January 2021 commonly referred to as J6.
It's available at open.ink.
Make time.
None of the footage, multiple perspectives, and explanations for context had I seen or heard before.
The story told by the J6 committee and media does not align, at all, with the documentary. Theirs a patched together disingenuous tale to further agenda.
Some macro takeaways ...
- law enforcement was not well-trained nor prepared;
- law enforcement was not properly armed nor equipped;
- law enforcement was not well led;
- law enforcement, to some extent, instigated and exasperated the protest later declared riot;
- President Trump repeatedly attempted to call for calm and peace but his video and tweets posted to Twitter calling for such were suppressed [formed Twitter executives should be charged];
- law enforcement, a police officer, unnecessarily shot and killed Ashli Babbitt;
- law enforcement officers, on scene, realized they'd been set up and so stated;
- National Guard reported for duty after the fact;
- Etc.
Was it wrong for protestors (they were not insurrectionists) to enter, wander, and vandalize the Capitol? Yes.
There was comment circulating social media the actual insurrection occurred Election Day 2020. And J6 was insurance.
A rational person would come to that conclusion.
During a recent interview with Sean Hannity President Trump was asked if he'd vow not to retaliate if reelected.
He paused and agreed saying, "Except for day one."
No idea what he meant. Does not matter.
The point of this short comment is to yet again sound the alarm to language.
The word: retaliation
Enforcing law is not retaliation.
President Trump, charged with nonsense "crimes" has yet to be found guilty of anything. Years of investigations while he held office found nothing.
That is not the case with the current President and administration.
Investigated by Congress and proved (overwhelmingly).
Law enforcement, as does media, idles.
If reelected President Trump does not need to retaliate.
All the President has to do is appoint an Attorney General who will enforce law and pursue criminals.
That is not retaliation.
That is blind justice and law and order.
That is America!
I don't care if President Trump is reelected or not.
Americans want a fair election.
To that point, the Speaker of the House must release, soonest, all J6 footage for the public to see, digest, and work into their November 2024 voting calculus.
And the next President, rightly chosen by the citizenry, to be of the law and order mindset and demand justice for all - pardoning the innocent and prosecuting the deserving; all of them.

Andy, your post certainly hit a nerve. Nothing, absolutely nothing infuriates me more about the current America is our inability - make that "refusal" - to enforce laws. Why have laws if we do not enforce them? I see it every day right here in SWFL. Simple one: why have a speed limit if no one enforces it?. Even the sheriffs' deputies speed; in fact, oftentimes, they are the pace car for a line of speeders. You are correct whoever the next POTUS is needs to simply enforce the laws already on the books. As for Lady Justice, yes she is certainly blind; she has no idea where she is or what's going on, but I don't think that's what "Justice being blind" means. Among the current candidates, I see none who have the fortitude to do what needs to be done, except Trump, but he's in an uphill battle with states like CO. Lord help us because we are unable to help ourselves!
With you, Jim.
AMEN!!!
