Hitch your wagon to a star. - Ralph Waldo Emerson

If not for multiple people bringing the recent Tucker Carlson and Department of Defense brouhaha to my attention I'd not have known about it and the ongoing fall out. [No longer do I tune into what is billed as "news."]

This morning another friend sent me the letter, excellent it was, Senator Ted Cruz wrote to Secretary of Defense Austin demanding, among other actions, a meeting with the Commandant of the Marine Corps.

Just back from a long head-clearing walk, thoughts ...

Tucker Carlson has duty (and he is one of the few left in the industry committed to that duty) to report facts and truth to the American people.

Mr. Carlson did just that bringing to light bewilderingly stupid things going on in our military that have nothing to do with fielding the most badass warfighting outfit on the planet.

The American people, paying for this capability to ensure their safety while pursing life, liberty and happiness, have every right to know reality.

In short ...

Everyone in uniform - bottom to top - swears oath to support and defend the Constitution against all enemies foreign and domestic.

Everyone in uniform - bottom to top - is bound by law to be apolitical.

Both of those conditions have been grossly violated; in letter and spirit.

And Mr. Carlson is alerting the public - sounding the alarm!

Generals and admirals of the U. S. military wear shiny silver five-point stars - one to four.

For each of those officers, especially the few entrusted with four five pointers, five pointers:

1. Carry out your oath of office;

2. Obey the law;

3. Order your subordinate to shut their mouths (and cease social media whining, etc.), carry out their oath of office, and obey the law;

4. Can't, to the letter and in the full spirit of pointers 1-3, comply, retire;

5. In retirement, opine; if you will. But do so only with facts, logic, intellect, and polish commensurate with rank. Otherwise, join the mob of your failed predecessors who quickly realized their newfound irrelevance.

Senator Cruz, thank you, sir, for your engagement. We eagerly look forward to your reports.

Tucker Carlson, thank you, sir, for your factual and truthful reporting. And too for your leadership and courage; an example for all in uniform - especially generals and admirals - to emulate.

Woke is not being awake.

Wake up, America!

And, Marines, careful to which star you hitch your wagon.

Proof just how far we have drifted from our heritage, legacy, responsibility and oath.

Needless to say, I am full behind you Col Andy. Well said. Can't wait to hear about the meeting between Berger and Cruz. Should be interesting to say the least; that is if Berger agrees to it. We'll see.

Why do individual units have their own social page, or whatever? One controlled system for the Service should be adequate, if even necessary. Close the rest down. Any individual caught using one illegally should receive a BCD, immediately!

What is frustrating is to read the comments from Tucker Carlson. Then, after reading the article, your take away from the article is that Carlson is demeaning females in the military. This is ludicrous. He brings up a real threat to national and world security, and then questions whether the current administration is up for this challenge. And he demeans the current administration by pointing out their focus is not on security of international waters and trade routes, or the safety of our allies, but rather, their focus is on uniforms for pregnant pilots and hair style revisions. How you can take the message and warning presented by Carlson, and turn it into an attack on female service members is insanity.

Marc, good grief. Learning to read includes comprehension. I did not address anything in regard to females in the military. You, sir, have leapt to conclusions neither written nor intended. What I did address is media presenting facts and military personnel, especially seniors, doing their damn jobs (which does not include critizing media nor citizenry who pays them). At first I considered not publishing your comment for it’s stupidity but reconsidered so the American citizenry, at least some, know what they are up against.

As usual Sir, you hit the nail on the head! I listened to Tucker’s commentary in now way, shape, or form did he denigrate the service of female s in the military. He simply highlighted our military is focused on vs what the Chinese are focused on. Secondly, the military leadership best stay apolitical lest they become another organ of the political spectrum. We are sworn to stay out of the political fray. I found it extremely distressing to see Senior Enlisted and Officers attack a civilian’s right to his freedom of speech, it’s truly disgusting!!!

Marc, you are obviously delusional as are those who are unable to comprehend that which is written in plain English. I shall add nothing to Col Andy's remarks, that is if your comprehension has finally returned to you abysmal brain housing group.
