Music is the universal language of mankind. Henry Wadsworth Longfellow
Once in a while I write about the arts.
This morning it's music and a just released (couple of days ago) CD titled - CLANN.
CLANN is an acoustic anthology of original Bluegrass and Celtic instrumentals - except for the last cut 'Still is Dad.'
It just so happens I know the artist, the musician, the man who wrote the 16 tunes - about family, his clann, and places near and dear to heart.
He happens to be a Marine. Too a Sailor. A naval aviator. And a superb 5-string banjo picker. For that matter, if an instrument has strings he can play it.
That we share surname Weddington is not coincidence.
My brother, Ken, goes by his flying days callsign "Duke."
Duke and his band, Higher Ground (Bluegrass), and few other guest artists have produced, in CLANN, a gem - a unique sound that soothes the soul and lifts the spirit.
The music is available at the below link - an electronic copy through CD Baby or send the band an email (Contact link) for hard copy.

Objectively?
Brilliant!
Man, this kind of music translates in any language - universal appeal. Longfellow knew what he was talking about.
Support the arts!
Support musicians!
Support veterans!
What are you waiting for?!
And, oh by the way, the other five CDs are fantastic!
Pass the word, please!
Post Script
'Still is Dad' is based on the poem 'Still' - I penned shortly after the death of our Dad. The CD cover art is mine; part of the clann, and CLANN.
