SPEWING GARBAGE

A great many people think they are thinking when they are merely rearranging their prejudices. - William James
CNN's town hall starring Donald Trump I did not watch.
Nor clips circulating social media.
No interest. There's no point.
Besides, more important demands on time preclude watching much of anything.
But a childhood friend, apparently not a fan, posted social media comment Donald Trump was "spewing garbage."
I asked garbage be defined.
Still waiting.
Why did he watch?
No idea.
Watching and don't like?
Change the channel.
Better still turn off and do something else.
One viewer's garbage is another's greatness; as one man's trash is another man's treasure.
Donald Trump is not exempt from enjoying Freedom of Speech.
He can say whatever the hell he pleases.
I don't care what he says.
That's not endorsement but supporting his Constitutional right.
Should I happen to hear him speaking, and as I do regarding anyone, I've choices: listen, ignore, mute, turn off, walk away, etc.
More so, there's super power few use to their advantage anymore I cherish and exercise ...
Think.
Spewing garbage summarizes television, radio, Internet, et al.; everything is sales.
Free speech does not mean true speech.
In reality, distortion, exaggeration, and downright lying is politics.
All aspiring to elected office have agenda. Them. Not we.
The burden, the responsibility, on each of us is to digest.
Then decide what makes sense; rational not emotional.
That is, what garbage is least odorous.
Policy matters.
America's policy (domestic and foreign) is garbage.
Reeks.
Law and order matters.
Application is garbage.
Reeks.
Reeking America makes for dangerous country treacherous world.
The Founding Fathers gifted ink safeguarding freedom to think.
Beware hoodwink, slink, and stink.
Fail and gone - eye blink.
War sorts garbage - prejudices.

Perhaps a tad off subject, but one point caused me to comment. We don’t watch much normal TV (major networks), but there are some shows we do watch, but they are taped and we watch without commercials. However, begrudgingly there are times when I must watch them, but I find myself not watching for the ad, but for the images and some content. My takeaways are, half of America is black, the other half are gay, men are missing, especially in car ads or with a small child, half of all marriages are racially mixed, women are much smarter than men, it’s okay to be overweight, ask your doctor for a drug that will certainly cure me says Pfizer, etc. I could go on, but hopefully you get my point. TV is nothing more than an ad selling you something e.g., a product, a belief, or a philosophy. Even the shows themselves are selling. Jeff Probst on Survivor can’t say “Come on in Guys” anymore. It’s just “Come on in.” Every episode must have at least one gay, sometimes two; can’t wait for the first transgender. We believe everything the network gurus feed us. Society is what it is today (sheep) thanks to the media. Baa!
