"Clean up your own mess." Robert Fulghum

This afternoon media (Marine Corps Times, et al.) are reporting a miscommunication between the Department of Defense (Secretary of Defense) and Marine Corps Recruiting Command for Marines on duty being ordered to doff uniforms (for civilian attire) following the murders of four Marines and a Sailor by a lone enemy gunman last week in Chattanooga, TN.

The reporting goes on to say but a small number of Marines were so ordered as well as the temporary closing of some recruiting stations.

A week for our Defense Department and Marine Corps to sort through and begin cleaning up their mess - amidst angered Marines, an astonished citizenry, and outrage from more than a few public figures (some Marines).

A week!

That any U. S. military personnel on duty, "miscommunication" or not, were told to doff uniforms troublesome. The thought process itself bewildering.

So...

Questions aplenty.

Damage control?

You decide.

Yet to see public comment from the Secretary of the Navy nor Commandant of the Marine Corps. Perhaps, internally, the matter addressed with Marines.

Alas, and more importantly...

Wonder what our enemies are thinking?

And are planning?

In closing...
