MARINE CORPS INFANTRY

MARINE CORPS INFANTRY

"Only two things are infinite, the universe and human stupidity, and I'm not certain about the former." Albert Einstein

I am sick of the subject but not tired of addressing it:

So...

As soon as the "standards" of the unpredictable rigors and horrors of ground combat are "lowered" then lower the standards, which are never truly adequate no matter how demanding, for preparatory training. That to which we now bear witness - subjecting women to something they cannot do at the reckless risk of injury or death - is an epic failure of leadership. A Marine Corps unrecognizable to me.

I realize this is all semantics; but these candidates were not "dropped". They failed to meet the standard. Changing the standard will remedy this semantic issue. However, it is not a root cause resolution and the results will be fatal, needless, stupid; ( you can select any of thousand worlds) poor to disastrous outcomes.

Be sure to read the paragraph three up from the bottom. If there’s a justification for officer authority and position apart from officer exceptionalism, I’m not sure what that justification is.

I question the author's assumption that female Marines require female officers to lead them.
