MORNING WALK - WEDNESDAY, 17 SEPTEMBER

MORNING WALK - WEDNESDAY, 17 SEPTEMBER

All truly great thoughts are conceived by walking.  - Friedrich Nietzsche

Every morning I walk.

To stabilize glucose, for peace, to observe breathtaking Nature, to think.

Typically, topic in mind.

To shape argument then shoot full of holes with all possible logical counterarguments. No time to waste on the absurd and stupid.

This morning different.

Sickened by the senseless murder of Charlie Kirk, fragments of things randomly came to mind.

In no particular order, wondered ...

If Charlie Kirk's immediate security team is getting any sleep?

If the University's Chief of Police (and his small force) is getting any sleep?

If the parents of Charlie Kirk's killer are getting any sleep?

If Erika Kirk is getting any sleep?

If Charlie and Erika's daughter is asking, "Mommy, how long is Daddy's work trip with Jesus?" [One day, God willing, she will tell her father's story to his grandchildren. Will she begin with a work trip with Jesus?]

How those near the stage who saw the killing are doing?

If the 'Designated Survivor' has been identified? [Since our top leadership will be in Arizona for Charlie Kirk's memorial - gathered in one stadium weekend coming.]

I thought about ...

Courage.

That to be a decent human courage is a must have quality.

Charlie Kirk had courage plenty.

He was morally grounded.

Knew right from wrong.

He was an authority on a couple of documents - Bible, Constitution - as basis for truth and his logical, defendable positions on what mattered.

He spoke publicly - convincingly. He listened publicly - politely.

You might conclude that dynamic in and of itself was some sense of attempt at negotiation and unity despite emotional discourse sometimes heated.

Speech is not spelled with $; for good reason. Mull that over.

Being radicalized is not mental illness. To think or believe contrarily is insane.

Last night before Taps I watched short video of Senator Chuck Schumer making public statement about the Republicans not being interested in negotiating and unity. He's agitated. That the Republican posture, stoked by "Trump," is bad for the country while shutdown looms.

The same Schumer who stoked an already rabid crowd when by name he threatened two SCOTUS justices yet was not held accountable.

The same Schumer who was party to the coverup of a President cognitively not fit for office.

Etc.

Negotiations? Unity?

That's what Charlie Kirk was trying to do and was assassinated for it.

So, uh, no.

There's more to that, of course, but the long walk was coming to an end.

Easing on pace ...

Who is Charlie Kirk's successor?

Who?

Not one. Many.

Each of us. All of us.

Spectating not authorized.

Do not be a coward.

Do not fear speaking to address wrong.

Do something to better your circle. That example teaches - especially children; courage is contagious.

And after about 50 minutes and approaching a favored porch glider ...

How about (provided conviction with sentence death) the same rifle used to assassinate Charlie Kirk be used to execute his assassin?

Iron(y) sights.

Poetic justice.

This evening another walk; with possibility of great thought.

If not thought, the great gift of Nature.

Good advice for all of us. And a good idea on administering justice.
