Why some?

A fews days ago after a shower that done daily for more than 41 years repeated - slipped ID (Marines do not call them dog) tags over my head. 

The tags about the same as the day issued - embossed dull gray metal. 

The once shiny John Wayne (AKA: P-38), old as the tags, long ago tarnished now a deep brown. 

But the old routine different this time. 

I paused to look closely; maybe because of recently reading articles about battlefield heroism, and an Army colonel awarded a long overdue Medal of Honor.

To studio - to paint ID tags and all sorts of images flooding.

No plan. No drawing. No order. 

Paint.

Fragments exploding on paper. Like a grenade. 

In an ism called Neo Expression(ism).

Unusual for me. 

But no other way to transfer mind to paper.

I stopped.

Thinking about it. 

Mostly, why only some?

Why need for recruiters?

Why not welcomers? To find the best amongst hordes storming stations coast-to-coast wanting to serve country?

America has a marketing problem.

America has an attitude problem. 

God bless (the) some who stormed bays, beaches, and buildings - training and battle - for the rest of us; and died.
