BUT OUR FLAG IS STILL THERE

Foreign enemies destroy our flag.

But our flag is still there. 

Domestic enemies destroy our flag. 

But our flag is still there. 

Day 4 it is that six blocks of Seattle, Washington, is not under the mayor's control. An abandoned police precinct within is "enemy" headquarters; Americans vs Americans.  

Our flag not flying. 

But our flag is still there. 

About the country, American history - statues, flags, symbols, grounds, etc. - is still being destroyed. Last night, Portsmouth, Virginia. 

But our flag is still there. 

BUT OUR FLAG IS STILL THERE

What's next? 

Dismiss blocks as mere child's play and seize entire cities? States?

Tear down national memorials to Presidents Jefferson and Lincoln? 

Destroy national war memorials?

Remove statues from the Capitol (as demanded today by House Speaker Pelosi)?

Assault the White House?

Blow up Mount Rushmore?

Plow under the hallowed ground of Gettysburg and Arlington National Cemetery?

But our flag is still there. 

Our flag flies as symbol. 

Symbol.

Fabric representing (our) "fabric," if you will. 

Fabric can be defaced, cut, burned, destroyed.

But "fabric" is still there.  

The spirit of the symbol, a rage within hearts and souls and minds of Americans, cannot be defaced, cut, burned, destroyed; cannot be extinguished. 

Destroy our flag. 

Destroy our history and symbols.

Yet the American spirit cannot be destroyed.

That spirit will not be destroyed; if anything emboldened. 

A young Long Island, New York, woman never met haunts me. 

I saw her for the first time on my phone a couple nights ago.

She made a 45 seconds selfie video - to share her take on the ongoing senseless bedlam that's followed the horrible killing of Mr. George Floyd by police. 

Like many an American, she is angry. 

Pissed off, a truer description.  

She was direct, on point, and wasted nary a word exercising her freedom of speech. [For language I'll not post but note sound bites of relevance.] 

She declared herself a proud patriot. Unapologetic. 

Her passion spine-tingling. She is ready to fight! 

She opened, "To all the douche bags ..." then dismissed Black Lives Matter and All Lives Matter as jokes, pointed a finger at the real racists calling them ignorant, hypocrites, and the true racists stating, "I'm an American! ... ", then casually made a V with index and middle fingers closing with, "Have a good day! Trump 2020, m----- f-----! Get the f--- out of here."

Since receiving that video little more than 48 hours ago, many seconding her in sundry social media

Now what? 

"President Trump, sir, lead. Field your generals; like Lincoln. By oath - duty - tend to our fabric."

Or else.
