Social media is not about the exploitation of technology but service to community. Simon Mainwaring

Came the following thought during the last 1/2 mile of my morning quicktime walk around the Offutt parade field (where many do battle against age lines and waistlines) ...

President Abraham Lincoln gave us the Gettysburg Address.

Etched in history.

Presidents Eisenhower, Kennedy, Johnson, Carter, Reagan, Bush, and Bush knew how to dress.

On the record.

President Obama was photographed in atypical dress.

Pictures stand as proof.

President Clinton gave us the dress.

Stained his Presidency.

And President Trump?

He regularly delivers a Twittersburg Address - 140 characters, of reality, of truth, to millions and millions and millions of well, characters.

Today's "entertainment industry" - the "news" of yesteryear - once respected for delivering reality otherwise know as truth, detests our President and his Twittersburg Addresses.

The Democrats, too, detest.

Some Republicans and Independents likewise take exception.

Why?

Because they cannot spout, establish, and reinforce false narratives (lies).

President Trump, our representative in the White House, is duty bound to walk the line of truth and report to us - his boss.

Simple as that.

The "entertainment industry" does not report. They shamelessly campaign, distort, smear, and cheer lead. They promote.

So what (else) is a President to do?

I do care that President Trump regularly Tweets, and has no intention of stopping. As a citizen he, too, is gifted the freedom of speech - his just so happens to align with "... government of the people, by the people, and for the people ..." (as President Lincoln so eloquently concluded his remarks to the modest numbers gathered at Gettysburg).

I disagree with Mr. Mainwaring. Social media is surely the exploitation of technology. And, too, service to community. That President Trump fully understands and is not taking prisoners is done in the name of the free not perishing from this earth (again, President Lincoln's thoughts).

President Lincoln was a man of few words and a gifted orator. He was effective.

Believe it or not, on Twitter there's @AbrahamLincoln1 - 27 Following and 11 Followers. Don't waste your time.

President Trump is coming into his own as an effective orator and, by Twitter design, is restricted in words. Yet, he is effective.

For truth (not offered by the "news"), follow our President on Twitter: @realDonaldTrump - 45 Following and 33.6M Followers.

Tune in. Engage. Tweet responsibly.

Alas, and ironically, Lincoln Highway borders the south end of Offutt parade field.

Trump that!

Another great post Andy. You sir are becoming quite the orator yourself. Just read that the MSM will not run President Trump's 100-day ad. Shame on them, but then that's the MSM of our day. He has no choice but to tweet. I wonder what "they" would say if he requested air time to speak to the nation as others have done in the past. Of course FOX would accept his offer, and Trump the ratings (pun intended) What a shame. Murrow is screaming in his grave. But alas, most today have no idea of whom I speak.

Well, Colonel Bathurst - old pal of mine, to borrow from and with full credit to little Tommy as he wrote in his letter to God, "I am doing the best I can."

This person that is in the White House should not even be spoken in the same breath as Abraham Lincoln! The title of your blog is titled "A Colonel of Truth ". I hope you will speak that Truth when Trump, his family, Son in law and others are found out about their ( never happened, I can't recall,) ties to Russia!
