When you go to the polls, ethics and morality should be part of the evaluation. John Shimkus
America the Beautiful was pretty damn ugly yesterday.
The Senate Judiciary Committee reconvened to hear more testimony - from Dr. Christine Blasey Ford who accused Judge Brett Kavanaugh of sexual assault (while high school students) and Judge Kavanaugh - in the ongoing confirmation of the judge as President Trump's nominee to our Supreme Court.
Writers plenty have detailed the proceedings. And the politics. So (from that) I abstain and will be brief.
Rather, once an investigator (including allegations of sexual misconduct), some observations and sentiments ...
That the 11 Republican men (white or not) on the committee opted to turn their (sworn) duty of questioning over to Rachel Mitchell - a prosecutor specializing in sex crimes - was dereliction of duty. Cowards.
That Rachel Mitchell did not delve into (any) particulars about Ms. Ford's sexual activity in high school was dereliction.
That Judge Kavanaugh was not spared such personal queries swearing to no intercourse until long after high school was unequal and unfair treatment.
That Ms. Ford, despite her seeming fragile emotional state, offered no proof, none, to support her allegation was disconcerting.
That emotion, however compelling, cannot be commingled with facts and evidence.
That had Ms. Ford been subjected to a withering attack disguised as pointed questioning (as launched on Judge Kavanaugh), 1. Truth, and more than just about any alleged sexual assault, would have come out; 2. She would have had a complete breakdown.
Heartless? No. So goes life in the adult world.
That the 10 Democrats repeatedly called for Judge Kavanaugh to request an FBI background investigation was laughable and ridiculous on multiple fronts. Foremost, the same FBI that, 1. Did not put Hillary Clinton under oath prior to questioning; 2. That exonerated Hillary Clinton of proven national security crimes while Secretary of State; 3. That partook in creating phony investigations and documents to take down Candidate and President Trump? And still has some of the same players in top and key positions? Right.
That Senator Dianne Feinstein (D, CA), though "assuring" her fellow committee members she did not leak Ms. Ford's letter to media, should be investigated and put under oath and questioned about her and her staff's actions surrounding Ms. Ford.
That Judge Kavanaugh offered evidence (personal calendars kept during and from high school days; statements from women and men alleged by Ms. Ford to have been present but deny such; etc.) that destroyed Ms. Ford's fuzzy at best memory(s).
That Senator Lindsey Graham (R, SC) found the moral courage to speak up in defense of Judge Kavanaugh was as surprising as it was a 'well, no kidding' moment better late than never.
Ms. Ford did not allege rape when 15 by 17-year old Brett Kavanaugh. She alleged sexual assault. No proof. Did something against her will happen at sometime during youth? Who knows. But the dynamics (politics, timing, etc.) of these proceedings did not help her nor the credibility of her allegation.
Judge Kavanaugh swore he not only did not assault Ms. Ford he was not present. He provided evidence that cast not only a preponderance of evidence but beyond all reasonable doubt supporting his alibi.
The 10 committee Democrats cared not about truth (so do your homework, on ethics and morality, before going to the polls).
They gang raped with intent to kill Judge Kavanaugh and his family.
Judge Kavanaugh, amid a difficult moment maintaining composure during his opening statement, noted his 10-year old daughter, Liza, said, "we should pray for the woman."
Ms. Ford needs those prayers. Too, more help.
Young Liza (and older sister Margaret) is being raised by one helluva mom and dad - a dad America desperately needs on our Supreme Court.
Follow Liza's lead - pray for Ms. Ford, and America the Beautiful.

Col. Weddington: An excellent blog post. I find it unfathomable the extent to which the rabid Democrats will spew their bile to destroy people and their families. What has this country come to? I am an optimist with a sunny outlook. I am hoping Judge Kavanaugh will be on the SCOTUS, soon.
Kind regards,

Ms. Price, thank you. As an umpire, balls and strikes as I see them. Appreciate that you read and took a moment to engage. Appreciated.
It's Dr. Ford.
Unknown, yes, Dr. - as noted in the second paragraph (before switching to Ms. to reinforce status when alleged assault occurred.)
