Marks on paper are free - free speech - press - pictures all go together I suppose. Georgia O'Keeffe

Tuesday morning, early, over first cup of coffee and with iPad in hand to catch up on mail and news an unusual number of notifications on Facebook caught my attention.

At first glance more than a handful were notices I'd not seen before and appeared to be duplicates.

They were not.

Each link stated that material had been marked as spam, was deleted, and blocked from future posting.

Investigating further, apparently the material did not meet Facebook's "Community Standards."

I read the Community Standards.

And sent multiple (their boilerplate) notices the material was not spam.

Their automatic reply is the material will be reviewed and if deemed a mistake then unblocked and a notice sent so stating.

It's been more than 24 hours. No response.

What material has been blocked?

Latest three commentaries: Seal and Savior Sidekicks; Red Seas And Knees; Starve Them!

The only conclusion I have been able to reach concerning the two latest is the commentary, though civil, is not in line with Facebook's backing of the NFL knee-takers and their supporters. As to the Seal? The commentary supports our country, our flag.

Late last night I tested one of the blocked links. This morning another.

In reply still ...

"You can't post this because it has a blocked link The content you're trying to share includes a link that our security systems detected to be unsafe: Body of an error/warning message. This is: You can't post this because it has a blocked link Please remove this link to continue."

That notice is followed by two hot links ...

"This is a mistake" and "OK"

"This is a mistake" gets auto reply "Thanks for letting us know," and "OK" (a hot link).

The links are still blocked.

But here they are ...

I suppose "marks" on the computer fall within Georgia O'Keeffe's perspective. And I suppose Facebook has a right to censor as they please. But that censorship, of civilly articulated analysis and opinion not in line with their political agenda, is not American and a de facto attack on our Colors.

Facebook?

On bended knee.

How about ...

Fakebook!

Flakebook.

OK, thus ends this morning's "marks."
