"The civilized world has a stake in defeating the terrorists."

Hamas has for years rocketed Israel. And Israel typically shows restraint. Until now.

The recent kidnapping(s) and murder(s) of three Israeli teen boys by Hamas (and return of favor by Israel taking the life of a Palestinian) sparked the ongoing swap of rockets and shells.

Peculiarly, much of the world sides with Hamas - a terrorist outfit. But they (Hamas) are nuts. They have time and again vowed the annihilation of Israel. As are their (Hamas) backers nuts.

What is Israel to do?

Hold that thought.

A couple of weeks ago I found a simple and healthy peanut butter cookie recipe: 2 cups peanut butter (creamy); 2 cups Splenda; 6 tablespoons egg white substitute; 1 teaspoon vanilla extract. Stir.

To that basic recipe I added: 1 cup of oats; walnuts.

Shape batter into balls the size of small peach pit and place on cookie sheet (sprayed with PAM). Press batter down with fork. Bake at 360 degrees for 7 minutes (or so). Stick a fork in 'em (to see if done). Makes two dozen.

As to the walnuts and for best edible cookies...

Shell the nuts! Shell'em! And tear their flesh into pieces.

And perhaps to end this thing in the Middle East that's what Israel should do to Hamas (and Palestine). All whilst safeguarding themselves 360 degrees 7 days a week.

Simple. But not so healthy for Hamas and Palestine. Oh, stick a fork in 'em, too (to see if done).

The cookies easily break into pieces.

Not so easy does peace break out in the Middle East.

But the first order of business is to turn down the heat.

If only it were so easy as turning off the oven.

In the meantime, things in that nutty part of the world continue to cook - with shells, rockets, and more.

While America, once a powerful and determined influential do-gooder but today a meek and terribly confused meddler, is postured smack dab in the middle of it; baking. And inevitably to get burned.

Post Script

Perfect complement - warm cookies with ice-cold unsweetened (original or vanilla) almond milk sprinkled with nutmeg. Enjoy!
