THE GENERALS WAR

Extinction is the rule. Survival is the exception. - Carl Sagan

Marines disagree.

Generals disagree.

But there's not been anything like the disagreement now being waged, publicly, by generals.

It's more a war.

Does this matter to you - the every day citizen?

Yes.

Absolutely!

Because at the core of this war is national security - ultimately, your security and safety.

In short ...

The active duty top general - commandant - is aggressively pursuing a direction of waging war and building (the) warriors the retired commandants, and lots of retired generals (some recently active who retired in protest), believe wrong.

In fact, so obviously wrong that if realized will be death of the Corps.

That ought concern you.

When dozens of senior Marines of different eras agree it's not just time to patiently listen but pause for serious objective analysis.

Remember, the enemy (some known some not) gets a vote, and they do not play games.

The link, though billed opinion, is a common sense rational voice of experience and reason and fact-based critique by one of the retired generals who has written extensively about the controversial initiatives to remake the Corps - Force Design 2030 and Talent Management 2030.

Take a few minutes to read. Digest. And Google related articles (some in Task and Purpose) and recent discussions on YouTube. Then contact your Representative and Senator.

Lieutenant General Gregory Newbold, USMC (Retired) ...

Every point spot on. Gen Newbold was one of the most, if not the most perceptive officer I came to know during my career.
