VIRUS, GOVERNMENT, BIDEN, FLYNN, PRESIDENT TRUMP, AND WATERCOLORS

VIRUS, GOVERNMENT, BIDEN, FLYNN, PRESIDENT TRUMP, AND WATERCOLORS

Watercolor is like life. Better get it right the first time - you don't get a second chance! Sergei Bongart

One person, a man, I know but have not had contact with in over 30 years died from the Corona virus. Particulars not known.

One person, a woman and friend of ours, tested positive. She is not hospitalized.

That's it.

A recent neighbor, a small business owner, is outraged over the shutdown of America. Outraged!

His frustrations and anger understood. Appreciated.

Had our countrymen been as risk aversive - to casualties (think beaches and battlefields) - during World War II, today we'd be speaking German or Japanese or both.

A consumer-based economy cannot idle for long without devastating consequences. That's already happened to millions. Just ask the average consumer. Ask your neighbor.

Reports of armed angry citizens marching on the state capital in Michigan struck me as healthy reminder to those temporarily holding elective office. Government is not master, per Founding Fathers. Guns! For the Republic's greater good.

The virus and government overreach, as many see it, is distracting from other important matters.

Joe Biden, Democrat nominee for President, is alleged to have sexually assaulted a woman while he was a seated Senator (not a high school boy).

Democrats and media now provide top cover - bipolar behavior to their withering attack on Brett Kavanaugh now a Supreme Court judge.

The word "hypocrisy" is being thrown around.

Nonsense!

B---s---!

It's not hypocrisy.

Sexual assault is a crime.

The Democrats, media, et al., by dismissing, harbor a (probable) criminal. They're accessories - after the fact (in essence). [Consider Biden's decades worth of peculiar touchy behavior around women and young girls as relevant.]

The woman's allegation, unlike Judge Kavanaugh's accuser, credible.

She has place, time, date, corroborating witnesses (some of whom Democrat), and her late mother calling into Larry King live shortly after the assault.

Anyone who has investigated such serious allegations (and I have) knows that's plenty to begin a methodical look.

This is not about politics.

Fair is fair.

Investigate.

Senate hearing.

And let an informed public decide.

General Flynn.

Simple.

After investigation, charge the men and women who conspired to set him up.

Death not harsh enough punishment; and deterrent.

The end.

In publishing, white space is your friend. That is, "empty space" is breathing room.

Somebody please, please, whisper in President Trump's ear, "Sir, silence is your friend."

Get it right, America! There will not be a second chance.

So, to close on a happier note ...

Usually by this time each year we've spent time in Abaco, Bahamas - where I care not about troubles of country nor world and just relax and paint and visit with friends.

Not this year. Dorian devastated our tiny haven - Elbow Cay. The cottage we rented washed away; completely. Gone!

Recovery under way and visiting just not possible yet; we'd only be in the way.

So to keep with some 17 years of tradition, I pulled out past years sketches, took myself back to sweet Hope Town in mind, and have been painting watercolors; a risky medium with no second chances.

Here's a handful, successful to me ...

Rage
(Favored local sailboat - 11.)

Sea Bear Under Repair
(Beached at Wyannie's Landing for fixing.)

Moored
(Harbour entrance from the deck of a friend's sailboat.)

Elbow Cay Light
(On the low road passing the cottage 'Summer Magic' to starboard.)

Ellipsis
(January 2018: Trapped in a sudden storm, lost at sea for two weeks, the damaged boat helplessly thrust through the treacherous reef and beached on the Elbow Cay north shore (Atlantic). The crew - two men and two dogs - survived; only for the Westsail 32, a floating tank. I made dozen of sketches and small color sketches.)

Good one Andy. Take the blindfold off Lady Justice; she is not blind in this day and age. Sad.
