A FEW GOOD WORDS ABOUT GOOD MEN - PRESIDENT TRUMP AND WHITE HOUSE CHIEF OF STAFF KELLY

Common sense is genius dressed in its working clothes. Ralph Waldo Emerson

For the past few days I've been mulling over the public brouhaha between our President and the Congresswoman from Florida with our White House Chief of Staff amidst.

Not so much what to say but how to say it, civilly, preoccupied thinking.

In short ...

I have delivered notification to family upon the death of an active duty serviceman. If you have done it, you know. If not, you cannot imagine.

Unimaginable it is for anyone not family to eavesdrop on a difficult call initiated by our President to a grieving spouse. But to do so then publicly air and purposely distort the conversation for the political purpose of embarrassing our President is a new bottom breaching respect, decency, and every sense of civility.

Now pause a moment and consider the thought and decision-making invested in the public appearance of and official statement by White House Chief of Staff John F. Kelly (AKA: General Kelly, USMC (Retired)).

Not only has General Kelly led Marines in combat and delivered death notifications he has been on the receiving end - his Marine lieutenant son killed in combat.

So from (his) decades of uniformed service (retiring a 4-star general) and sobering experiences, General Kelly surgically, eloquently, and passionately framed the inappropriateness of Congresswoman Frederica Wilson's behavior to her and our President - Donald Trump.

Some fools have stupidly opted to criticize General Kelly.

This is pretty simple.

You can listen to what a uniformed, battle-tested, and proven Marine General - who has made more sacrifices and suffered more heartache than most can comprehend - has to say, or you can listen to the blather of a costumed obnoxious congresswoman who looks to have stepped off a Fruit of the Loom underwear label.

I never served with General Kelly. Nor met him. Though have friends who have and nary a disparaging word.

Common sense leadership the consistent theme. They'd follow him anywhere.

Not all cloth, even if made in America, is equal.

Any uniform (military or civilian coat and tie) of a Marine? Working clothes.

Genius it was of President Trump to call upon General Kelly to be his Chief of Staff.

And "dressed right" General Kelly, daily, proves his genius.

Semper Fi, General, and Mister President.
