TEA WITH FOUR AT FOUR & TEE WITH FOUR AT FOUR

TEA WITH FOUR AT FOUR & TEE WITH FOUR AT FOUR

"We never fail when we try to do our duty, we always fail when we neglect to do it." Robert Baden-Powell

A few days ago one of our own, James Foley, was murdered.

Young Mr. Foley, a reporter, was on assignment in the Middle East and taken hostage by ISIS. His crime? An American. That's it.

The fact is Mr. Foley is all of us. He is each of us. His murder was not personal (against him). But it was intended to be a personal statement against America, against each of us. It just so happened Mr. Foley was a convenient target of opportunity.

The killer, who spoke with a Queen's English accent, is believed British.

Upon learning of the murder, David Cameron, Prime Minister of the United Kingdom, terminated his vacation. That the expected conduct of an ally head of state. But he vowed his country would not return to war in Iraq.

But not so our president. President Obama read a rather sterile statement and returned to vacationing and golf.

One has to wonder.

Returning to work, did Prime Minister Cameron tell his staff, "Please, tea with four at four to discuss the course."

Then after learning of the prime minister's direction, President Obama told his staff, "Please, tee with four at four to discuss the course."

Words all sound alike but their meaning and seriousness differ - starkly.

We don't know for sure if the prime minister took tea or not but we know for certain our president indeed teed up.

Those who professionally analyze and opine for a living are bewildered by President Obama's detached state and seemingly indifference to duty.

Though their bewilderment is itself strange.

For there is no need to listen to anything President Obama has to say. His behavior(s), time and again throughout his tenure, betray his words (and the words of his keepers). He is detached. He does not understand America. And he does not understand the threats coming after America. He is indifferent to his duties.

James Foley had his head gruesomely cut off.

Prime Minister Cameron kept his head.

President Obama has lost his head.

And all the while many an American head has no clue what's going on in the real world.

In closing...

Look, Mr. President, America is not interested in hearing your emotionless token outrage, plans to contain the enemy, hollow threats, and promises of bringing the murderer to justice.

It is this simple, get on the airways and say what a leader, a serious head of state, must say...

"My fellow Americans, Iraq has taken a terrible direction some of my advisors predicted and I too optimistically hoped would not. I have made some bad decisions addressing threats in that region of the world. I offer not apology but regrets. Regardless, the murder of our countryman, James Foley, signals we are under attack by a ruthless enemy. Enough! Our response is going to be with firepower. And it is going to be swift and exponentially disproportionate. I have so ordered the Secretary of Defense to begin. Our goal is their annihilation. This may take a while. I beg your patience and promise to keep you informed. Thank you, and good evening. May God Bless America."

Then, Sir, tee up. No one will care.

Post Script

ISIS has vowed to murder more Americans held hostage. Preventable. What are you going to do, Mr. President?

We have a nation of men and women who stand ready to defend our country. Medals for valor are given to some. Leaders of all rank make difficult choices daily and stand by them. YET as a nation we are unable to elect persons of moral fiber, leadership ability and selflessness. To a person our federal goverment is broken and disfunctional. Liars all - cowards all.
