HOLY COW! - REAL LESSONS LEARNED IN NEVADA

HOLY COW! - REAL LESSONS LEARNED IN NEVADA

"When the people fear the government there is tyranny, when the government fears the people there is liberty." Thomas Jefferson

Yeah, yeah, yeah - several courts have ruled against Mr. Cliven Bundy (and his grazing cattle).

Blah, blah, blah.

Got that. And so do many Americans.

So what!

Today's brief comment is not about the law necessarily. There are bigger lessons going on in Nevada.

Besides, is the law right? Is the law fair? Is the law corrupt? Are the courts corrupt? Are the politicians corrupt (ha, ha, ha)?

Those points aside, the President of the United States and the Attorney General of the United States (who likely don't know a cow from a horse) and others in the administration have shown little regard for rule of law (though their sworn duty as public servants is to enforce) and on matters far more important than grazing cattle.

So the position of Mr. Bundy and the actions of his supporters should not come as surprise. No surprise at all.

That Harry Reid, Senate Majority Leader, is involved (clearly emotionally) raises all sorts of questions as to his personal interests. For starters, what's (as in money) in it for him (and his)? The pile of chips (not cow) must be impressive for him to refer to Mr. Bundy and his faithful as "domestic terrorists."

But all the law and politics and bureaucracy and posturing aside there are a few core real lessons to take away from Nevada - and the president et al., best pay attention.

Those lessons?

1. What patriots look like.

With the Bundy family and their backers rests example of hard-working, principled folk with moral conviction who know right from wrong and will not cower.

2. How to draw a red line.

In short, Mr. Bundy refuses to pay grazing fees the federal government (which he does not recognize) says now amounts to a million dollars. When the Bureau of Land Management attempted to confiscate his cattle, Mr. Bundy and his followers said, 'Oh no you don't,' - red line drawn. The Bundy party did not back down. Nor did they redraw (nor erase) the line. With numbers (and guns) in their (the patriots) favor, the feds wisely released the cattle and retreated. Otherwise, there was likely to be many a dead fed.

3. Courage.

Even facing death patriots (President Obama refers to their like as Bible clingers and gun totters) do not back down.

Harry Reid (who should be removed from public office) says, with threatening tone, it's not over.

But beware patriots, Senator. And watch your step.

There are many more patriots than showed up last week. Right or wrong, they stand for something. And they (in their eyes) have the high ground - at least morally - and are to be feared.

So they proved last week - a demonstration of liberty.

America is awakening.

Mr. Jefferson was a cattleman.

Holy cow!

Post Script

Cattle - that grazed in pastures and woods - supplied beef, milk, butter, and manure (fertilizer for crops) for Monticello.

Just my opinion, but the guy looks like an anarchist to me. Walks like one, quacks like one, he thinks he is above the law and perhaps there should be no laws but those he likes.

If he wants to take on the Marines, I'd say it would be easier if he just left the country for one where he doesn't have to live by the rule of law.

Happy Easter Andy, it's a great weekend for grandkids!

1ANGLICO... and your comments likewise, to the letter, apply to President Obama, Atty Gen Holder, et al. That's the point. Happy Easter.

I suspect there is a lot of misstatement and misunderstanding of information out there. I am not a Land Use lawyer but I believe the payment for Federal grazing actually is remitted to the State and the state of Nevada says Mr. Bundy is current.

A sensitive Federal/states rights issues (been there before, didn't work out so well) that has legal precedent; but will likely go onto Eric Holder's long list of incomplete tasks.

A government who refuses to support and defend the far more important laws of immigration, drug use, cities defying them as sanctuaries, voter intimidation by Black Panthers, the IRS, Benghazi, Fast and Furious, etc., has no moral high ground to attack Gibson Guitars, Fish packing plants, and grazing cattle. Reid has financial interests here and his hand picked inexperienced child-boy personal aid to head up this department speaks volumes of the total corruption of this administration

Andy, the legal battle will be debated but the Constitutional abuse started with the secret service and it's use of so-called "1st Amendment" zones. It's a liberal turd head policy in widespread use on college campuses and now applied wherever cops see fit it seems. That is the issue worth fighting for. Prior restraint is a delicate issue and to remain free we must limit it's application to truly serious venues. Even Presidents need to the people who oppose them, no matter how loud, stupid, or obnoxious the speech. When they try to shut us up the more curious people should become.

Just what do grazing cattle have to do with harming a desert tortise? Nothing!! This is a Harry Reid land grab and this provides a perfect example of what a lier and thief he is. He is unfit for public office!!

I believe that it was MLK that said:

"We have a moral responsibility to disobey unjust laws".

Right up there with "Shall Not Be Infringed".

We are in deep trouble, those folks give me hope for my country!
