To THE WHITE HOUSE - For The President

Dear President Obama,

Sir, to imagine your burdensome and lonely duties - possible. To fully understand and appreciate them - impossible; but for presidents.

With no animus nor joy but from sense of duty, I write - freedom to communicate with my president. What follows is not derived from idealism, romanticism, nor naiveté. Rather, it's a frank, gentlemanly summary spiced with frustration, disappointment, and tempered anger. Without doubt, tens of millions - millions of whom would use stronger language - feel likewise. That said, decorum per protocol will not mask our grave message.

Busy you are, I'll be brief and to the point.

Though not law, the President of the United States is expected to be an upstanding citizen - exemplary in thought, word, and deed. More, stout character - that emanates from a core of integrity and moral courage - is required; to carry out the Oath of Office and to do what is right by humanity and for country.

Some time ago I shaped "President" into an acronym:

Patriot of the United States, first and foremost;

Respectful of all Americans;

Exemplary in word and deed, a gentleman (woman);

Studious of history and current events (globally), engaged;

Integrity beyond reproach;

Diplomat of the highest order in performance not just title;

Endearing, genuinely;

Negotiator for the best interest of country not personal agenda;

Trustworthy.

It's been suggested that acronym should be written into our Constitution. Though not a Constitutional scholar nor lawyer, perhaps it's an idea worthy of debate - as such a provision would afford all citizens a framework, in our founding document, from which to evaluate presidential candidates.

And, that, Sir, is how you presented yourself to us, the citizenry - what you said you were made of. People believed you. And, in good faith, voted for you.

On two occasions during the past 4 1/2 years you solemnly swore an Oath of Office to faithfully execute the Office of President of the United States and to the best of your ability to preserve, protect and defend the Constitution of the United States.

Those are serious duties voluntarily assumed.

Your first election was a consequence of perfect timing. There was hope. Skeptics spoke while many held their collective breath reserving judgment affording you benefit of the doubt.

Your second election was realized from a perfect storm. What was once suspected and feared you'd proven. The skeptics were validated and those red in the face were out of breath. Despair smothered hope. And here we are.

To date, your personal conduct and performance of duties has been anything but what you vowed campaigning and were sworn to do. Though tens of millions of Americans do not agree with your political slant, it is character and performance at issue.

As our President, you are a disappointment - for you have misused and abused the presidency's powers. To what you sold America, you have governed the antithesis. That is shameful - for it means you entered office atop a wave of deceit. Another logical conclusion there is not.

An explanation need not be proffered. A heavy black shroud of deceit and corruption envelops our Oval Office - our White House. And our government. Embarrassing it is. And frightful. Our nation frets and weeps. We flounder.

An artist, I'll tell you black easily covers white, but not so easily white over black. And I'll tell you, Mr. President, there is no more beautiful complement of colors than red, white, and blue - perfection when configured as a rectangle of deep blue adorned with 50 bright white stars that abuts 13 striking alternating red and white stripes. For some upon sight the beauty of Old Glory overwhelms causing hearts to swell and tears to leak - that is love of country, that is patriotism.

The injustices - the horrible crimes - perpetrated against America and fellow Americans - patriots all, with more than suspicious ties to the White House, to you, are disconcerting. You've avowed justice. That means first to determine truth. But that you recently dismissed them all, in prepared remarks, as "phony scandals" mark you as suspect of treason; a charge upon yourself, by your tongue.

And what about those around you - from aides and advisors to your Press Secretary to Cabinet members to key appointees - whom have compromised themselves, some under oath, to wrongly protect a president over country? Astray they are.

You, Mr. President, set the tone. That which you have levied upon America could not be less presidential. That, too, contrary to what you pledged - leadership and an united America.

The peculiar 'Americanization' hammered into you early in life is foreign to red-blooded Americans. Hence, your presidency has been bewildering and upsetting - damage to our nation broad and deep. And although our country is barely recognizable, the heartbeat of America is still detectable; as evidenced when citizens wrongly under attack testify - with deep, gut-wrenching emotion and grit and fight - before Congress.

Your presidency, colorful certainly but lacking betterment for America, has been a history lesson like no other. Seeing is believing. Your time will end. America will move on.

As Abraham Lincoln remarked, "With public sentiment, nothing can fail; without it, nothing can succeed. Consequently he who molds public sentiment goes deeper than he who enacts statutes or pronounces decisions."

As you have squandered the ability to lead, and to preclude further disgrace upon our Chief Executive's office and its Great Seal, the citizenry civilly calls for your resignation. Though not a knight, there's opportunity graciously offered for you to ride out as one.

Thus, if not resignation, may Americans charge Congress to do their sworn duty - to remove you from office. Lonely you'll not be for some in Congress, too breaking their Oath of Office and not best serving country, to follow in short order.

America will then begin to heal. Patience - friends. Beware! - foes.

In closing, all presidents face judgment day - historians and scholars ever to disagree. One day, as is the nature of Americans, those tens of millions of angry everyday citizens will forgive you.

A Christian, you know Judgment Day looms. God be with you, Sir.
